Description

The Church of the Annunciation (Latin: Basilica Annuntiationis; Arabic: كَنِيسَةُ الَالْبِشَارَة, کنیستو البِشَارَة; Italian: Basilica dell’Annunciazione) is a basilica located in the center of the city of Nazareth. According to Catholic tradition, in its place stood the house of the Virgin Mary, where the angel Gabriel told her that she was expected to conceive and give birth to the Son of God, Jesus. In addition to this, Christians believe that Mary was conceived in the structure of the church and thus the Incarnation took place, the transformation of the Logos into a flesh and blood man. For this reason, the Church of the Gospel, and Nazareth as a whole, is among the most sacred places for Christianity.
